Hotel Quilting, Round Two!

I had a feeling I would be spending another night on this adventure. Luckily, I was able to book a room where I normally stay when I'm in Sioux City. I was disappointed in the room I was in last night. It didn't even have a fridge! The lighting is slightly better here as well. I am going to have to remember to buy a small travel light and pack it in my quilt bag.

Tonight I worked on another crumb quilt. I have nearly half of it sewed together. This is the part I hate about quilting. I would rather be making blocks or even cutting fabric!

I don't think I will get it finished tonight, but at least I've made progress on it! We'll see what happens! I may get my second wind.

Hopefully the weather will play nice tomorrow so I can make it home! I don't mind being on the road, but there's something about sleeping in your own bed that is comforting.

Another Crumb Quilt Complete

It has been a pretty productive day. I had finished a quilt earlier in the day and figured that would be it. I at least wanted to load this one on the longarm and ended up working on it this all afternoon to finish it up. I love making these quilts. It is nice to have a project that you don't have to put much thought into! I also like using every little scrap in my stash. I have three more crumb quilt tops to finish yet and each one has a different color for the sashing. I still have to figure out what backing fabric I will use for those. In the mean time, I still have plenty of other projects to do!

Crumb Quilt Top Complete!

Crumb Quilt Top
It is always nice to get a quilt top finished when you started it six months ago. I had this one sitting in a bin with only the rows left to sew together. I took it to the quilt retreat this past weekend and nearly had it done. I only had four rows left to sew together when I left the retreat on Sunday.

There are quite a few special fabrics in this quilt. There are even a few pieces of my old shirts in there along with scraps from many of my quilts I have completed. Looking at it brings back a lot of memories. I may have to hang onto this quilt!

Too Busy Quilting!

It has been a few weeks since I last posted anything, but I do have six quilts to show for my lack of posting. This past Tuesday, I did my first ever trunk show at my quilt guild meeting. I was asked to show my quilts that I made from the scrap dive at the quilt show back in October. So far, I have made a total of 15 quilts from the fabric I got. I expect to make at least five more before all is said and done. I will be going to a quilt retreat next weekend and hopefully I can take advantage of it! It will be the first quilt retreat of the year for me.
